Creating a new dive park in Stalis

Diving enthusiasts will love the information that a diving park will be created in the popular tourist destination in the north of Crete, Stalis. The project has already obtained the appropriate consent of the Environmental Protection Commission and environmental licenses, and according to the hxonews.gr portal, work on its creation is already underway.

The creation of this park is part of a plan to improve alternative forms of tourism and to extend the tourist season in Crete. After completion of works, the existing underwater area, as announced, will be transformed into a peculiar oasis of diving, in which guests will see an even more beautiful seabed and artificial reefs. The dive park is being created in cooperation with the Greek Center for Marine Research in the area of distribution of new habitats, creation of ecosystems and improvement of marine life in this area. The park will have a total area of 22.5 acres.

The dive park in Stalis is not the only new place of this type. Similar ventures arise in several other places of Crete. Their task will be to attract this group of "specialized" tourists who choose tourist destinations precisely in terms of the possibility of realizing their diving hobby. As we wrote above, the second goal is to significantly extend the tourist season.
