Hatching of Caretta Caretta turtles in Crete

In recent days, volunteers working within the Archelon organization have unveiled the first nests of Caretta-Caretta turtles in Crete. Thanks to their work, the vast majority of small turtles got to the sea. It is important for as many newly hatched turtles as possible to end up in the water, as out of a thousand only one individual will reach adulthood. Most, unfortunately, fall prey to all kinds of animals. Another such action is planned at the end of this week in towns located in the western region of the north coast of Crete. • Friday - 09/09/2019 - Kato Stalos , beach around Star Beach Bar
• Saturday - 2019.09.07 - Platanias - a beach near the Amaryllides restaurant
• Sunday - 2019.09.08 - Gerani , beach near the Hippokratis apartments
