On August 10-11, in the south of Crete in Arvi (Άρβη), a festival will take place, the theme of which will be bananas. This is the second edition of this very unusual event. Its location is not accidental, because the region of Arvi in terms of banana growing in Crete is one of the pioneer areas
On August 10-11, in the south of Crete in Arvi (Άρβη), a festival will take place, the theme of which will be bananas. This is the second edition of this very unusual event. Its location is not accidental, because the region of Arvi in terms of banana growing in Crete is one of the pioneer areas.
The program of this event provides for events addressed directly to growers, but also to a wider audience. People who will come to Avri on Friday 10 August will be able to watch the puppet theater show entitled "Banana of the South". On the same day, at 8:30 PM, the Cretan evening will begin, the artistic part of which will be led by Dimitris Zografakis.
On Saturday 11 at 20 a people's evening will start. During the two days of the festival, visitors to this event will be able to count on the opportunity to try different types of products made from bananas. It is worth to mention even the various types of snacks, sweets or liqueurs made from these fruits. Of course, there are also opportunities to taste only bananas grown in Crete.
